In this video we're going to go through how you change the information that's assigned to a site that you've already made and then how you change the information on surveys that have already been submitted to that site that still have the old information.
0:14
I've got an imaginary site I've just made here and we're going to say I'd like to change the catchment name, because that's a common reason why people want to change information on their sites.
0:25
Sometimes the catchment name isn't quite right.
0:27
Here I've got a site on Clipson Brook in Leighton Buzzard, and we try to use catchment names that match up with the operational catchment names used by the statutory bodies. For the Environment Agency in England, you can find these on the Catchment Data Explorer.
0:44
Here you can see I've zoomed in on this part of the country and this operational catchment is actually called Ouzel and Milton Keynes.
0:53
I can check here that Clipson Brook is definitely in that operational catchment.
0:57
That's the catchment name I should have used.
0:59
I'll use that.
1:00
All I need to do is click “Unapprove” and put it back to draft so I can edit the site.
1:07
This is the site that you've accessed under Riverfly Sites’ list of sites.
1:12
Here I'll change the catchment name, click save again, and put it back to approved.
1:20
You always put sites straight to approved. No one else needs to check them if you're the coordinator.
1:25
We can untick “Continue registering after save” and when it's saved, it'll take me back to the list of sites.
1:50
The catchment name has been changed.
1:54
That's fine to leave as it is if it's a new site and you haven't done any surveys against it yet.
1:59
But imagine I've already done one survey. You can see that changing the information on the site hasn't actually updated the survey information.
2:10
You need to go into that survey to get it to match the catchment name that's on the current version of the site.
2:22
Now that's loaded, I'm into the survey and you can see here the site is selected.
2:30
If you unapprove the survey, you can then make changes.
2:41
What you need to do is assign the site again and that will update the information.
2:49
If you're not sure if it has worked, you can click off it and then click back onto it.
2:53
It'll go small and then big.
2:56
At that point it is not assigned to a site.
3:05
Then when you click back onto the site, it is definitely got the new version of the site assigned.
3:10
That's all you need to do to update the survey.
3:13
Then you just click save and click approve to approve again.
3:18
If I keep “Continue editing after save” enabled, after I save it'll take me back to that list of surveys again and I'll be able to see that the catchment name has been updated. It will no longer say “Great Ouse”.
3:29
It will say “Ouzel and Milton Keynes”.
3:34
If you've got a number of surveys already assigned to the site when you're changing the site information, you will have to go through each individual one and update it like that, and that's it.
