Before you Begin
To install the iOS app you will need:
- an iPhone or iPad running iOS or iPadOS 13 or later;
- an email invitation from our team (see ).How to Get the App
Installing the App
We will send you an invitation email containing instructions to install an Apple testing app called TestFlight. This is like a private version of the Apple App Store that lets you download and install pre-release apps.
Step 1. Open Your Invitation Email
You can view this email on any mobile device or computer. Make sure you have your iPhone or iPad with you before you proceed:
Tap or click the button labelled View in TestFlight. This will take you to a web page containing some installation instructions:
The next step is to install an Apple app called TestFlight on your device. This acts as a special version of the App Store, allowing you to download the Cartographer app and provide feedback to our development team (although we’d prefer you to reach out to us directly by email).
Step 2. Install TestFlight from the Apple App Store
The next step is to install the TestFlight app on your device. If you are already on your device, tap the link labelled Get TestFlight from the App Store. If you are on another computer, open the App Store manually and search for the TestFlight app:
Tap Get to install the app. Once it is installed, you will find TestFlight on your home screen:
When you open TestFlight for the first time, you will be asked whether to allow notifications from TestFlight:
We strongly suggest you allow this. You will receive a notification whenever a new version of the Cartographer app is available, which will give you access to the latest features and bug fixes as soon as we release them.
Step 3. Install Cartographer from TestFlight
Once you’re in TestFlight, you should see a menu item for Cartographer on the screen. If you don’t, tap Redeem and enter the 8-digit alphanumeric code from your invitation email. The TestFlight app should eventually look like this:
Tap Install to install Cartographer on your device. Once the app is installed, the button label will change to Open. You can open Cartographer from TestFlight or from your home screen:
Step 4. Open Cartographer for the First Time
When you open Cartographer for the first time, you will see some instructions on how to take screenshots and report bugs:
Tap Start Testing to continue. This will take you to the Cartographer login screen:
Congratulations! You have successfully installed the app. See
