I can’t tap “Sign In” on the Sign In page!

This problem has been observed on some devices when a password manager to sign in to Cartographer.

In certain cases, the Cartographer app doesn’t “notice” the password manager filling in the email and password fields. The fields appear filled out (sometimes with a coloured, e.g. yellow, background) but the app thinks they’re still empty. The “Sign In” button remains disabled so you can’t tap it to sign in.

This doesn’t happen in all cases - password managers often work correctly. We haven’t determined the exact set of circumstances leading to this problem, but if you do encounter it there are two workarounds:

  1. Don’t use a password manager. Type your email and password in by hand.
  2. Let the password manager complete the sign in form, but then manually tweak each field (e.g. by adding an “x” to the end and then deleting it again). This will nudge the app so it notices the values in the fields. The “Sign In” button will be enabled and tapping it will sign you in.
