There are a few options for Cartographer customers looking to share data with partners and stakeholders.
Invite People to Join Projects within your Workspace
You can invite additional partners and stakeholders to join your Projects. This is the recommended way of sharing your RCA data with colleagues and long-term collaborators.
Inviting someone to a Project allows them to access the data therein. You can assign them a role to dictate what they can do:
- Project Members - can see maps and surveys but not edit them;
- Project Surveyors - can add surveys to the Project [*];
- Project Approvers - can approve and edit surveys by other surveyors;
- Project Coordinators - can edit Project settings and invite new members [**].
Adding someone to a project gives them access to all of the data in the project. If you want to give them access to a subset of your data, it’s time to break out multiple projects. Read on for more information.
Notes: [*] You need an RCA qualification to be able to add data to an RCA Project. [**] Adding additional users to your workspace may affect the cost of your subscription.
Create Multiple Projects to Partition Your Data
This feature is coming in late 2024. Please contact Support to set up multiple Projects in the meantime.
You can create multiple Projects to split up your data, and share each Project with a different set of people. This is the recommended way of sharing data with long-term partners and stakeholders.
Most Workspaces start with a single Project. In the case of RCA Workspaces, this Product is simply called “River Condition Assessment”. Projects are represented by the white boxes on your Workspace home page:
You can add additional Projects to your Workspace to split your data up into logical subsets. For example, you could add a Project for the ”Business Park Expansion” you’re consulting on and one for the “River Restoration” you’re involved in with your local catchment partnership:
Each Project has its own members with their own roles, permissions, invitations, and QA. You can limit certain people to specific Projects while giving other people more wide-ranging access across your whole Workspace.
Move/Copy Data Between Projects
This feature is coming in late 2024. Please contact Support to move/copy data between Projects in the meantime.
You can move/copy data between Projects, and even move whole Projects to other Workspaces. This is the recommended way of permanently transferring Projects to new owners, or permanently merging data from different owners or Projects.
Publish Maps to Public-Facing Websites
A revised version of this feature is coming in late 2024. Please contact Support to share a map on your website in the meantime.
If you want to share data publicly, you can embed a map on your web site. You can choose from various options, like filtering data, selecting particular colour schemes, and so on.
