We're thrilled to share some great news with you today:
- We're introducing a new free plan to make River Condition Assessment tools accessible to more people.
- We're rolling out discounted pricing for non-profits.

New Free "Starter" Plan
We've been humbled by the positive response to the announcement of our paid subscription plans—thank you for your support! At the same time, we've had requests for a lower price point from small businesses that only use RCA occasionally, rather than as part of their core workstream for BNG and other projects.
We are therefore happy to announce a new free "Starter" plan, designed for solo consultants and small teams. The new plan allows unlimited data entry and generates all the River Condition outputs required for Biodiversity Net Gain, but comes with two limitations:
- it is restricted to two workspace members;
- it only supports data entry via the web.
Upgrading to a paid plan is simple if your needs grow, and you can upgrade and downgrade at will.
We've renamed our previous Starter plan to "Standard" to make room for the new offering. You can see all the updated plans side-by-side on our pricing page.
Discounts for Non-Profits
We've also been listening to feedback from charities, NGOs, government organisations, and other non-profits. We've received several requests for bulk or discounted pricing, and we're happy to share that we're introducing a 20% discount for all non-commercial customers.
Updated Launch Timeline
The introduction of the free plan has required some adjustments to our schedule. Here's the revised timeline:
- Early plan selection and billing setup will be available before Christmas. We'll email workspace owners letting you know when it's up and running. You'll be able to choose a plan and set up your card details, and we'll only start charging you when…
- Subscription billing starts on 10th February 2025.
