Both of these are swipe actions on the survey list. Swipe a survey's row to one side and a button appears: right for Copy, left for Delete.
Copying a Survey#
Copying saves you re-entering the same details when you record similar surveys, for example repeat visits to the same site.
- In the survey list, swipe right on the survey you want to copy and tap Copy.
- The app creates a new survey with the same answers, with you as the surveyor and the status Draft, and opens it. Some questions are cleared and need filling in again, in the same way as when you copy a survey on the web site.
- Make your changes and tap Done to save it, as for any new survey (see Recording a Survey in the App).
The original survey isn't changed. You can only copy a survey that's on your device, so if it shows a cloud icon, open it once while you're online first.
Deleting a Survey#
- In the survey list, swipe left on the survey and tap Delete.
- The app asks you to confirm. If the survey has already been uploaded, deleting it removes it from our servers as well as your device. There is no undo.
If you're working offline, the deletion is queued and sent to our servers when you're next online. In the meantime the survey disappears from your list.
The app won't let you delete a survey while it's being uploaded (wait for the upload to finish) or when your account doesn't have permission to delete it. The permission rules are the same as on the web site: for example, you can't delete a survey that has been approved. Ask your project coordinator if you need one removed.
Deleting isn't the same as abandoning changes. If you've opened a survey and want to throw away what you've typed, tap Cancel and then Abandon Changes instead.
