The Cartographer app is free, and it runs on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets. You install it from the App Store or Google Play like any other app.
Before You Start#
- A Cartographer account. You sign in to the app with the same email address and password you use on the Cartographer web site. If you don't have an account yet, see Getting an Account.
- A supported device. The app needs iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later, or Android 7.0 or later. Older devices can't install it.
- Wifi or a good mobile signal for the install itself and for your first sign-in. After that the app works without mobile signal (see Working Offline).

What Next?#
Once the app is installed, open it and sign in (see Signing In to the App), then install the project you'll be surveying while you're still on wifi (see Installing a Project on Your Device). Getting Around the App gives a quick tour of the app's screens.
