The app keeps you signed in until you sign out, so most people never need this page. It matters if you share a device with other surveyors, or use more than one Cartographer account.
Signing Out#
- On the home screen, tap Settings, then Sign Out at the bottom.
- The app tells you whether anything is still waiting to upload, and asks you to confirm.
Signing out doesn't delete anything. Your surveys and photos stay on the device, and if any were waiting to upload they'll be sent when you sign back in. Even so, it's best to switch off Work Offline and let the app finish uploading before you sign out (see Checking Uploads and Sync Status).
More Than One Account on a Device#
If several people use the same device, each should sign in with their own account. The app keeps each account's surveys separate.
To see the accounts on the device, tap Settings, then Accounts. The list shows each account and how many of its surveys are waiting to upload.
- Switch account: tap an account to switch to it. Your current account stays on the device.
- Add an account: tap Sign In To Another Account and sign in as usual (see Signing In to the App).
- Export a backup: swipe right on an account to export a backup file of its data (see How to Export a Backup File from the App).
- Delete local data: swipe left on an account to delete every survey and photo the device holds for it. The app warns you if any haven't been uploaded. This can't be undone, so only do it once the account's uploads are finished.
The same list is available from the sign-in screen: tap the people icon at the bottom right. There, tapping an account signs in as it.
"Signed In as a Different Person"#
If you sign in to a different account in your phone's browser, the app may show a screen saying the device and the browser are signed in as different people. Nothing has been deleted. Choose Sign In as … to carry on as the account the app was using, or Switch to … to change to the other account.
Freeing Up Space#
Signing out doesn't free up space, because your data stays on the device. To remove a project's downloaded surveys, swipe left on it on the home screen and tap Remove (see Installing a Project on Your Device). To remove everything for an account, delete its local data as above. Uninstalling the app deletes everything for every account, including anything not yet uploaded.
