We’ve rebuilt how search works. Finding the surveys you need is now faster, more forgiving, and understands the kind of search syntax you’d expect from a proper search engine.
Search the way you’d expect 🔎
The survey search box now understands real search syntax:
- Type several words to narrow down — every word has to match.
- Wrap a phrase in "double quotes" to match those words together, e.g.
"red herring" - Put a minus in front of a word to exclude it, e.g.
-shark - Use or to broaden a search, e.g.
salmon or trout - Group terms with parentheses for more complex queries.

Search is also much smarter about what counts as a match. Searching for surveying now also finds survey (and vice versa), and names with accents or hyphens — like Müller or Pereira-Gurnell — are handled correctly as well (this is a favourite of mine).

We've got a couple more experimental features that we'll be launching soon. Get in touch for more information to try these features out before their official release:
- Download photographs - Workspace Admins and Project Coordinators will soon be able to download photographs with their survey data.
- Create projects and organize surveys - Administrators of Standard and Plus plan workspaces will soon be able to create additional projects in their workspaces and move/copy surveys between them. This is useful for sharing subsets of your data with different groups of contributors.
- Send surveys to project partners - Administrators of Standard and Plus plan workspaces will soon be able to send surveys to project partners in other workspaces. Select some surveys, type in an email address, and wish them on their way (no need to talk to our support team).
